The Burning Scroll

An ink-wash Classic of Mountains and Seas
The book is burning from the inside. You are the brush-spirit on its last page. Three pages remain unburned — Qingqiu, Fajiu, Kunlun — and on each one a name is still alive.

About The Burning Scroll

The Burning Scroll is a free browser-based ink-painting RPG from alphaBETA DEV (GameStrategists). Every beast is a turn-based painting fight: outline holds its form, texture breaks it, wash reveals its nature. Fill its nature to 100 and you can record it into the book; let its form reach zero and it dissolves. What you record stays in the bestiary across scrolls, and every name helps hold back the fire.

How to play

  • Outline: the steadiest way to cut form; nature rises slowly.
  • Texture: cuts form hardest; nature rises least.
  • Wash: barely touches form; nature rises fastest.
  • Record / burn: at nature 100 with form alive you can record it; at 30% form or less you may burn it for heartfire.
  • Bestiary: every beast you meet, record, burn or dissolve is kept across scrolls.

Scope

Three beast pages, Mount Zhong and the Burning Place; three endings and a hidden page at Mount Zhong. Everything runs in the browser; there is nothing to install.
